Ozone and ultraviolet technology are the mainstream physical and chemical disinfection technologies in aquaculture water treatment, and their core role is to kill harmful microorganisms and improve water quality.
Ozone mainly achieves strong oxidation and deep purification, and achieves disinfection and water quality optimization through strong ozone oxidation, which is suitable for high-density aquaculture scenarios with high water quality requirements (such as factory aquaculture).
UV technology is characterized by physical sterilization, using 254nm wavelength UV-C to destroy microbial DNA through ultraviolet irradiation to achieve disinfection, safe and stable, suitable for medium and low density aquaculture or as water quality pretreatment or post-treatment links.
Application Scenarios:
l Preferred ozone: high breeding density (such as factory shrimp farming, fish farming), many water pollutants (residual bait/feces accumulate quickly), need to achieve disinfection and water purification at the same time, ozone technology can be selected, and with microbubble dosing system to increase ozone utilization rate and reaction effect, suitable for the characteristics of large fluctuations in water volume and long process in aquaculture.
l Preferred ultraviolet: low breeding density (such as ponds, cage farming), good water quality foundation, only basic disinfection is required, or as a secondary safety disinfection after ozone and chemical disinfection, reducing cost and difficulty of operation.
l Combination use: The combination mode of ozone pretreatment (degradation of pollutants and preliminary disinfection) combined with ultraviolet disinfection (secondary sterilization) is adopted, taking into account the water purification effect and biosafety.
